She was in heaven! I tried really hard not to cry while we were there so I wouldn't embarrass myself. But looking through these pictures, I definitely shed tears. She looked so happy and beautiful. Truly, these iphone photos through finger printed windows with reflections of us behind just don't do it justice. But, here they are, for your viewing pleasure.
Waiting for class to start. Emilia's mommy so thoughtfully bought both girls matching ballerina hair clips.
They worked on turn out and plies. Jackie and I practice those at home.
Off to the bar for arabesque
The little girls were all so enthralled with the big girl in the class. This young teen was like an assistant for the teacher. But she was so beautiful to watch she was both inspirational and distracting!
This photo just takes my breath away! Practicing first position arms.....
Tendu side from first position
And now for the most entertaining part - free style dance. Since I was filming this from outside it had no sound. So I added in some music. I am starting to learn how to edit the videos!
And now it's time to put on the tap shoes! I know these girls just love to make all that noise. I've been so lucky to find cheap tap shoes at swap meets and consignment stores. The first pair we bought, she outgrew so we passed them on to Emilia and found a new pair for $3!!! We like to put on our tap shoes at home and make some noise too, so Jackie was pretty comfortable with them.
Can you feel the love?
I think Jackie has a natural predisposition to dance. She has zero interest in trying any other sport, so far. But dance gives strength, coordination, agility, balance, cardiovascular health and grace and poise besides. So, yeah dance!
Great photos! You're doing such a great job documenting this blog, Robin.
