Tide Pools

Earlier in the month, an Arizona family that Chris knows from work (he coaches the kids sometimes) was vacationing at a beach front home in La Jolla, right across from the tide pools!  They invited us over for an evening bbq.  The timing was perfect, the tide was at it's lowest point.  The kids have been vacationing here for 6 years straight so they were very experienced tide-poolers and showed us the ropes.  Jackie had a blast!  She loved hanging out with the big kids, catching fish and crabs and looking at anemones and muscles.  After a good long time of exploring we walked back across the street to the house and ate.  Jackie picnic'd on the grass with the kids while we adults enjoyed our time.  Then she disappeared into the house, where I found her playing with an ipad, taking goofy pictures with the teenage girl (I wish I had some of them!), and watching cartoons.

Can you imagine watching this sunset every night from your front porch while sipping wine and grilling your dinner?  Thank you Fitzpatrick Family for inviting us to your summer vacation spot for a night.  Looking forward to next year!
