Where did the last month go? Sorry for being MIA!
There was a little of the same 'ol same 'ol - escuela (school), music, swim, gymnastics, library, etc. And there was a Road Trip to Sedona! Then, Mother's Day - my new favorite holiday? And settling back into the routine of things. I guess I have a lot of catching up to do on this blog.... as I do in so many other aspects of our life and home. Ugh.... does anyone ever feel "caught up"?!
So, I'm going to throw a few photos and stories in the soup pot today and then follow up with posts about our trip, etc. Soon, the blog will be caught up.... then I can go back to catching up on bookkeeping, taxes, home organization and maintenance, plans for the future.... never ends!
Beach Time after school - we are getting tired of the drive to Solana Beach twice a week. But, I really should take more advantage of the proximity to the beach before we start our new local school program in August. If these photos don't look very warm and sunny - it's because it wasn't! Solana Beach seems to be one of the worst for marine layer concentration this time of year.
Swim Class got a slow start for Jaclyn. There were some chilly days and there were some trepidations about putting her head in the water (still are). Her buddy Emilia is a natural swimmer - I often call her a little fishie. So when the first session of swim class ended, the teachers promoted her to the next "level" and she switched classes. Jackie would ask me, why did Emilia move up to the next level? I would start to answer with a list of "skills" that Jackie needed to acquire before she gets to move up (hoping it would encourage her to try new things). But, Jackie just smiled and said, "it's because she's such a fishie." I wish I had it on video, the way she said it was so cute. Fortunately, their classes are still at the same time so they get to see each other and have a snack together after class and play on the playground. Emilia is about to become a big sister! So that's exciting.
The Rapunzel comparisons continue..... her hair continues to grow and she still hasn't allowed me to cut it. One day she said, I want flowers in my hair like Rapunzel (Disney's movie version has a scene where she gets her hair braided and decorated with flowers). So, mommy complies.
Well, that's all for now folks.
