First Nutcracker

Jackie is in her dance studio's version of The Nutcracker this weekend.  It looks something like this (footage from dress rehearsal).

Jackie and Emilia are Gingerbreads in the Mother Ginger dance.  Here are some photos of the girls backstage at yesterday's performance.  They have so much fun together.

We are so thrilled and THANKFUL that Jackie's friend Emilia (and her mom) joined us in this dance adventure.  Watching the girls enjoy dance classes together and seeing them dressed up in these adorable costumes and learning this dance has been so incredibly special.  I have tried to be encouraging without putting too much pressure on Jackie.  She seems to have taken to this whole performing thing quite easily so far.  It does help that she has a super awesome teacher, Miss Jenny of Signature Dance Academy.  Miss Jenny is the owner and she has the perfect personality to teach dance to littles.  Jackie ADORES Miss Jenny and will do anything she tells her.  Miss Jenny is Mother Ginger so that really helped the girls through this whole experience.  As most of you already know, dancing in the nutcracker was a big part of my youth.... so as you can imagine I am feeling very nostalgic and VERY VERY proud.
