A Sixth Sense

Jaclyn is so nice and thoughtful, and perhaps a little psychic.  Recently we went to a birthday party for a friend of hers, Sophie, who turned the big 3.  Earlier in the week I told her that we were going to Sophie's birthday party and we needed to go buy her a birthday present.  What should we get her, I asked?  Jaclyn responded, "a dinosaur present." (In November we went to play at Sophie's house and learned that she really likes Dinosaur Train and the girls played with little toy dinosaurs and a train set.  Maybe Jaclyn remembered?)  So, I asked, What "kind" of dinosaur present?  "A Pink one!", she exclaimed.  Well, she wants everything to be pink so that's no big surprise.  But where is the world would I find a pink dinosaur present?  Yesterday we headed to a book store and while looking at dinosaur themed books I turned and saw a craft kit where you paint little dinosaur figurines.  Perfect!  If Sophie wants her dinosaurs to be pink, she can paint them herself.  Fun!  Jaclyn agreed.  

     On the party day, my sweet little baby was so excited to go to the party she kept exclaiming Happy Birthday Sophie and even attempting to sing the birthday song.  We went to our collection of re-givable gift bags and tissue paper stashed in the garage to pick out a bag for Sophie's present.  Jaclyn picked a Hello Kitty themed bag, saying, "That one's my favorite."  Well, at Sophie's party..... she had a dinosaur cake and Hello Kitty party favors.  Coincidence, I think not!
