Playing Hookie

Last week my cousin Wendy came through town at the end of a long motorcycling trip. She and her husband were here only briefly so I pulled Jackie out of school for the afternoon and we met them for lunch. Jackie loved getting pulled out of class and playing Hookie with mommy and Nana and Papa. 

We had a nice brunch at Brockton Villa on La Jolla. And we visited the seals in the cove. It was so beautiful outside as a rain storm was slowly blowing towards us  yet the sun was still mostly shining. I wished we could have stayed there and explored and played tourist for the rest of the day. Definitely need to go back there this summer for a La Jolla day.
