Holidays are way more fun with kids.
First - check out this totally Americana mural Jaclyn painted ALL BY HERSELF at art class yesterday! Seriously, she really did it all by herself. I admit, she did want me to help her a couple of times, so I did stamp a star or two... but only after she told me where to put them. And I did encourage her to mix the red and blue together when using the "fireworks" sponge - to see what color they would make. But that's it. I didn't do or say ANYTHING else. I think it is gorgeous and incredible and don't be surprised if you find it framed and hanging in our house forever more.
We headed to Old Poway Park for their festival this morning. We did some crafts - made a festive necklace for Jackie. We rode the train and watched it get robbed. We listened to some classic american music by some seriously old geezers. We ate snow cones and rootbeer floats (she didn't like that one). Jaclyn drove a very old car. We got hot and sticky in this uncharacteristicly muggy weather we are having. Then we left. Short and Sweet.
I think she likes playing with the train table in the depot store more than she likes riding on the train
Uh Oh!
Later, we head to Grandma and Grandpa's for swimming, ribs, and fireworks. Happy Birthday America!
