One day I'm sitting in the backyard watching Jaclyn play, not really being able to participate because I'm feeling sick and tired (this was when I had a virus in June, the week before I threw my back out - yeah, fun June).
I say to Jaclyn, "I'm bored."
She responds, "I help you with something."
Me: "What you help me with?" Yes, I start speaking in weird shortened sentences when I spend too much time with her. It's like living with a non-native speaker.
J: "I help you ride a bike."
Me: "But I don't have a bike."
J: "I'm going to buy you one at the store tomorrow."
Me: "You are?! Where are you going to get the money?"
J: "From my pocket. I'm going to give it to The Man."
Oh, how right you are, I thought.
