Halloween Fun

Over the weekend we went to an annual party at Luke's house again, with a neighborhood parade.  Jackie was very proud of her Strawberry Shortcake costume this year.  We bought a few strands of pink hair to pin on her and she kept her hat on the whole time.  She even won for best girls costume.

Is it normal to be his excited about walking around the block?  I mean, she's levitating!

Thank you Marialice for hosting another fun party for our munchkins!  I know how much work it is!  You are the perfect hostess.

Jackie made a spider web and spider at science class earlier in the month and I was goofing of by putting the web on my head when it occurred to me that I could trim it, pin it, and it would be a fastener. Voila!

I also got creative with the food I brought to the party.  The Pinterest obsession is revived!

Plus I made homemade croutons with the bread trimmings after making these sandwiches.  I'm quite the Susie homemaker these days!  haha

Jackie's preschool class also had a Halloween party this week.  The kids dressed up and paraded around and they did crafts and a trick or treating activity.  It was fun seeing the kids dressed up and proud of their costumes.

And then she got to wear her costume to dance class too!

Then, after washing that costume twice, it was finally Halloween!  But, poor thing, she was sick.  So the day started with a trip to the doc for a diagnosis and prescrip.
But she was given professional permission to go trick or treating.  Yay!  So her best friend Emilia came over and we trick or treated around our totally awesome neighborhood.  There are so many kids out and lots of households decorate and have little parties on their driveways with fire pits.  Seriously, how cute are they?

These girls were on the move and impossible to photograph.  Oh, and that's Emilia's daddy dressed like a hot dog.  Not Chris.  Though, blurry, they do look a like.
After making a round of the neighborhood Jackie parked herself at the front door and handed out candy.  She was such a trooper the whole night even though she sounded like a frog.  Unfortunately, even though the doc said she was on the tail end of a virus and would be fine.... she was back in our bad in the middle of the night with a stuffy nose and a new chest congestion type cough instead of the croupy bark.  Ugh.  So, no school today and a lot of snotty kleenex.  But at least she had a great Halloween!
