This is a revised post - for those of you who read it before..... Turns out, photos not lost after all! Just hiding from me! Tears shed for nothing.
For several months Jaclyn asked to start taking dance class. At first I wanted her to switch from gymnastics to dance, mainly so I wouldn't be paying for both. But then she said she wanted to do both; she didn't want to stop going to gymnastics. And I couldn't say no. So, New Year, New Outfit, New Dance class.
I thought I had lost these snapshots due to allowing munchkin to play with my camera.

Here is a YouTube video of about 5 minutes of her "dancing", which is mostly running around looking cute and then spinning around looking cute. I was sitting in the hallway watching/filming through an observation window.
Her first day was, so far, her best day. She was so excited to start taking dance class. But I think I goofed. I signed her up for the 3-4 year old ballet tap combo and there were 16 kids in the class with two teachers. It was chaotic to say the least. She did pretty well her first day and said she wanted to come back. But the next week she didn't enjoy it. She seemed overwhelmed and lost and a bit ignored. The following week I switched her to the younger class because there were only 5 kids in the class and several of them were just barely 3 also. She said she liked it better, but still didn't participate much. And she was disappointed there was no tap. So then came week 4. I brought my camera with intention of taking new pictures and video, since I thought these were lost. But, she wouldn't let go of me. She wouldn't participate. We left early again. And I cancelled the class. So, it looks like 2012 won't be the year of the first dance recital. Boo! I admit I'm having a bit of a pity party over this. But who knows, maybe a year from now she'll forget all about this failed attempt and we'll be more successful. Or maybe she'll take up golf, or swimming, or a musical instrument, or be a singer or actress or acrobat, or......
